New Year’s Blessing (Hatsumoude)

New Year’s Blessing to the Shrine from midnight on, throughout the first day and also the following two days, expresses gratitude for the blessings of the past and prayers for divine guidance and protection for the New Year.

Monthly Worship Service (Tsukinamisai)

Also known as “Toka-matsuri,” the monthly worship service is held monthly on the 10th day of the month, at 7:00 pm.

First Monthly Service of the Year

Only priests will have service.

Annual Autumn Thanksgiving Festival (Omatsuri)

A religious service, food and entertainment are offered for the members and public.

First of the Month Visit

First of the month visit to the Shrine is a regular observance for many members and non-members. During this brief visit, there is the washing of the hands, followed by the ringing of the bell, bowing twice, clapping of the hands 2 or 4 times, and bowing once again. A short blessing may be offered by a priest if he is available. He will bless you by waving a wooden wand with white paper, as at New Year’s.
